The Organizing Committee for “A Block of Art,” a three day arts exhibition scheduled for April 17th, 18th, and 19th, 2009 in Pottsville, PA, announces a call to artists working in painting, printmaking, colored pencil, pastels and other traditional visual media, sculpture, photography, mixed media, book arts, fabric arts and smaller-scale installation art. Also, please contact us if you’d be interested in staging a small street performance (music, theatre).  
 

We are still accepting submissions. Please submit your work to Many Worlds Gallery as soon as possible for inclusion in this year's A Block of Art.

IMPORTANT:
• Artists are invited to submit up to four works.
• Works must be ready to hang, with picture frame wire already attached. 2D items
delivered without proper installation hardware will not be exhibited.
• Artists exhibiting sculpture must provide pedestals for the show.
• Place label on the back of each work listing artist’s name, address, contact information,
title of work, dimensions, media and price.
• In the case of sculpture or small-scale
installation, place label where the organization will be able to identify the work.

PICK-UP OF WORK: Please pick-up work on Thursday, April 23rd or Friday, April 24th between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. unless other arrangements are made with the committee. Work will be housed at 203 West Market Street.

Commission structure on work sold: The commission structure is 80/20, the artist receives 80% of the List/Retail price and the sponsoring organizations receive 20% of the List/Retail price.

Liability: All possible care will be taken of the artwork but the organizers, its officers and agents will not bear liability for any loss or damage to any work while in transit to or from this exhibition nor for any incidental or consequential damages occurring during installation or the exhibition. The committee reserves the right to refuse entries it deems unsuitable for gallery viewing.
