A Block of Art included a wide variety of fine art/mixed media, poetry, pottery, photography, textiles, film, live music and workshops throughout the weekend. The event was held in multiple venues, including All Things Good, JH & Company, and Gallery 205, soon to become Many Worlds Gallery.

On Friday evening, April 18th, a private reception for artists and their invited guests took place. Schuylkill County Commissioner Mantura Gallagher cut the ribbon to kick off the event. A Block of Art opened to the public on Saturday, April 19th. Numerous artists held workshops (many of them Allied Artists), All Things Good featured a poetry open mic, and live music wrapped up the evening.

Sunday, April 20th, concluded with films by local, self-taught, animated filmmaker Brent Green and a performance by The Gabriel Chamber Ensemble at the Sovereign Majestic Theater. Brent Green's film "Carlin" was screened as part of the Documentary Shorts program at the Sundance Film Festival. The Gabriel Chamber Ensemble has been successfully received in Maryland, New Jersey, Vermont, and Atlanta, Georgia.
